Banks Votes to Begin Process of Repealing Obamacare

Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today voted to pass a budget resolution that begins the process of repealing the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The legislation passed the House 227 to 198.

“Today’s vote is about fulfilling a commitment I made to my constituents and the promises Republicans made to the American people,” said Banks. “I strongly support a full repeal of Obamacare and this legislation is the first step. With Obamacare repealed, Congress can focus on replacing this government-run failure with real solutions that will lead to a more affordable, patient-centered health care system.”

Congressman Banks supports the H.R.277, the American Health Care Reform Act, a bill introduced by members of the conservative Republican Study Committee to replace Obamacare by increasing access to and lowering the cost of health care with patient-centered reforms.
