Rep. Jim Banks’ Staff Leads Constituent Services Workshop and Staff Delegation Trip to Military Installations

Washington, D.C. – This month, the staff of Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) led two major initiatives to help better train and inform fellow staff members who serve constituencies across the country.

On March 15, staff members from Rep. Banks’ district office hosted a bipartisan Regional Caseworker Operations Workshop in Fort Wayne.  Casework staffers for other members of Congress from Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, and Michigan traveled to northeast Indiana to hear insights from Rep. Banks’ staff on how to provide better constituent services for their respective communities.  Participating Indiana offices: Reps. Baird (IN-04), Bucshon (IN-08), Pence (IN-06), Walorski (IN-02), and Sen. Braun

Last week, military legislative staff from Rep. Banks’ Washington, D.C. office hosted a staff delegation (STAFFDEL) trip for Indiana members’ Military Legislative Aides (MLA) to visit the Naval Sea Systems Command (NSWC) Crane in Crane, Indiana.  NSWC Crane is home to the leading experts in hypersonic weapons research, is leading the Navy in electromagnetic capability development, and has the largest concentration of technical Expeditionary Warfare (EW) expertise, facilities, and equipment.  As such, NSWC Crane is indispensable to the nation’s Nuclear Triad.  The STAFFDEL trip gave an opportunity for those staff members who help craft defense policy to gain a better understanding of NSWC Crane’s strategic mission and core capabilities.  Participating Indiana offices:  Reps. Baird (IN-04), Pence (IN-06), Walorski (IN-02), and Sen. Braun

Said Rep. Banks, “I could not be prouder of the staff that is serving the people of Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District.  They are leaders, not only in their communities but also in the U.S. House of Representatives.  It is humbling to know that members of Congress turn to our team to help equip their staffs with knowledge and expertise.  With this team, northeast Indiana has a dedicated staff working tirelessly in service to their community.”
