Banks’ WOTUS Amendment Advances to House Floor

Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today released the following statement after the House Committee on Rules made in order his amendment to the 2018 farm bill that would permanently repeal the 2015 Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule:

“We are another step closer to finally repealing the overreaching WOTUS rule once and for all. This rule has hurt our economy and encroached on the rights of farmers and agriculture producers who should be able to run their operations without fear of overbearing federal regulations. I urge my colleagues to support this important amendment.”

The House is expected to continue debate on the farm bill tomorrow. Congressman Banks spoke about repealing WOTUS on the House floor earlier this week.
