Banks Supports FAA Reauthorization Bill, Includes Amendment Recognizing Smith Field in Fort Wayne

Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today voted in favor of legislation that reauthorizes the programs of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The bill included an amendment offered by Banks to recognize the hangar at Smith Field in Fort Wayne as the National Airmail Museum.

“Today Congress voted to strengthen and modernize America’s aviation industry while also making reforms that will benefit airports and travelers throughout the country,” said Banks. “I am especially proud that my amendment to recognize the hangar at Smith Field as the National Airmail Museum is included in the bill. This recognition will highlight the impact that airmail had in the development of commercial aviation and northeast Indiana’s vital role in aviation history.”
