Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, today issued the following statement regarding recent Treasury Department implementation of Russia-related sanctions:
“I commend President Trump’s recent implementation of additional sanctions announced by Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, targeting specially designated Russian nationals and entities connected to meddling in the 2016 U.S. election cycle and cyberattacks in June 2017. Russia’s continued attempts to undermine international order and to create destabilizing conditions must fail. I will continue to support the robust use of all elements of U.S. national power to counter Russian aggression. This use of the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act is a good example of how to deter Russia from further irresponsible actions.”
