Banks Praises Budget Passage, Says One Step Closer to Tax Reform
Washington, DC,
October 26, 2017
Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today released the following statement after voting in favor of the fiscal year 2018 Budget Resolution that provides Congress with the tools it needs to enact tax reform: “While the Senate-passed budget we voted on today ignores the House’s attempt to balance the budget, it gets us one step closer to tax cuts for Hoosier families. With the budget passed, I will be working with my colleagues on tax reform legislation that lower rates, makes American businesses more competitive globally and boosts economic growth.” The legislation previously was approved by the Senate and passed the House 216 - 212 today. The Budget Resolution the House passed today calls for $5.1 trillion in spending reductions over the next decade and includes reconciliation instructions for fundamental tax reform. ### Interested members of the media may contact Anna Swick at anna.swick@mail.house.gov |
