WASHINGTON--Today, Rep. Jim Banks (IN-03), Ranking Member of the Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization, issued the following statement recognizing information technology improvements at the Department of Veterans Affairs. “I commend VA Chief Information Officer Jim Gfrerer for his achievements over the past two years,” said Rep. Banks. “Most visibly, he led the expansion of telework and telehealth capacity in response to the pandemic—I have rarely seen the federal government take action so quickly and successfully. Behind the scenes, he has demonstrated a renewed commitment to the VA information technology workforce while instituting real performance measurements for the organization. From the Marine Corps to the Office of Information and Technology, Jim Gfrerer is an admirable public servant.” |
