Banks Supports Discharge Petition to Repeal Obamacare
Fort Wayne, IN - Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today announced his support for a discharge petition to bring H.R. 1436, a clean repeal of Obamacare, to the House floor for a vote:
“Obamacare is collapsing, and Congress should not stop efforts to reform our health care system just because it is difficult. In 2015, this Obamacare repeal bill passed Congress with near unanimous Republican support. With President Trump ready to sign a repeal bill into law, Republicans need to honor the promise we made to the American people to repeal Obamacare. I look forward to signing this discharge petition to move this bill forward.”
A discharge petition is a legislative tool that requires the signatures of 218 members of the House to immediately bring a bill to the floor for a vote.
